FAQs
Where are meetings held?
Client meetings can be arranged face to face in one of our offices or at your home if that’s more convenient for you. Most of our meetings are held online using Microsoft Teams or over the phone, but we have a flexible approach and can adapt to your needs.
Do you have parking?
Our head office in Hove is in a residential area with on-street parking. When you visit, find a spot in a paid parking bay and make sure it’s not a resident-only parking bay. Check the signage for the five-digit location code and head to our office. Provide our receptionist with the code, and we’ll happily pay on your behalf.
Do I have to pay for an initial meeting?
An initial meeting with one of our advisers comes at no cost and without any further obligations.
What do I need to bring to an initial meeting?
A good idea of your current financial position, your assets, income and outgoings and an idea of what your key hopes and goals are for the future.
How long should I allow for an initial meeting?
We would recommend allowing up to 90 minutes.
How can I book an initial meeting?
There are several ways to book an initial meeting. You can either call our offices, send an email (all details can be found under contact us) or you can book a meeting directly with us by submitting a meeting request.

It also confirms that we have a commitment at the highest level to professional qualifications and an adherence to ethical good practice.
Are you independent?

Can you advise on final salary / defined benefit transfers?
We have chosen not to operate in this space as this can be a very contentious issue. However, we can refer you to Origen, who specialise in transferring a defined benefit scheme and will be able to discuss your options.
Why do I need a financial plan?
With a financial plan you are much more likely to achieve your objectives as it helps you to focus on the tasks required to achieve your goals and identify the obstacles that you need to overcome along the way.
What do you charge for a financial plan?
For a simplified report detailing your situation and plans, with a recommended financial plan of how to meet and achieve these objectives, we charge £600 (£500 + VAT).
However, should you decide to proceed then this figure is inclusive within our implementation fee, which is typically charged at 2% of the first £250,000 invested and then 1% thereafter, up to a maximum fee of £15,000.
Do you get commission?
Only for insurance-based products such as life cover, income protection and critical illness. However, we do not charge a fee for this service and all advice provided around insurance is at no initial cost to you.
How will you look after me in the future and ensure the advice remains appropriate?
Part of our discretionary service ensures that our investment team monitors the funds daily and makes changes where needed to ensure your funds remain well-balanced and fit for purpose, this is done as part of the fund charging structure and as our commitment to you.
Your investments would also benefit from our ongoing advice service, which ensures that your planner will meet with you at least once a year to discuss your plans, changes in circumstances either that have happened or foreseen, review your attitude to investment risks and adjust as and where needed.
Your planner is also able to discuss any aspect of your plans or concerns throughout the year when you feel the need for that additional support. The fee for this service is typically 0.5% pa of the funds invested.
