Sponsorship and Charities

We have been engaged in plenty of different charity projects throughout the years, supporting and giving back to our local community as well as abroad. For us as a business, it’s an important part of who we are.

New for 2021 is our company charity committee that will focus on engaging employees in different activities to raise money for three selected local charities. All money raised by the committee will be matched by Skerritts. Below are the three charities we are supporting from October 2021 and one year ahead.

  • Raystede Animal charity

A former headmistress with a deep compassion for animals, left the education sector to establish Raystede animal charity in 1952, based in her cottage and back garden. Raystede now has over 200 volunteers, committed to giving animals a better life. They rescue, rehome and provide sanctuary to more than 2,000 animals each year.

  • Brighton Pebbles

Brighton Pebbles offer a place for parents to children with disabilities, to feel supported and understood. It’s a place for children, including siblings to play and have fun so they are not excluded from everyday activities most families can enjoy. Run by parent and carers.

  • Off the Fence

Fighting for the disadvantaged people in Brighton and Hove, mainly focussing on helping the homeless, women at risk and vulnerable school children. The charity have been running over 20 years and was started by husband and wife going out on the streets of Brighton and Hove, interacting with people in need.

As a company, we are also engaged in the below initiatives...

  • Proud Main Sponsor of Russel Martin Foundation

We have been RMF’s main sponsor since 2018 and has supported the charity to develop in different ways. Our funding has gone towards providing free membership of the Russell Martin Academy for 45 families which has given their children opportunities in football that they would not otherwise have received. Our sponsorship also helped RMF provide food for 270 families during the Covid pandemic.

  • Hove Methodist Church Christmas Lunch

For many years in a row we have sponsored the yearly Christmas Lunch at Hove Methodist Church. Located a couple of hundred meters from our head office, the church has been serving Christmas Day lunch to hundreds of people in need for the past 48 years. We are delighted to be part of this wonderful initiative and have been a substantial sponsor for the last couple of years.
