Skerritt Consultants buy City Firm Huntington Investments

Skerritt Consultants, the Brighton and Hove based Independent Financial Advisers and Wealth Managers, have completed the takeover of the business of Huntington Investments Ltd, the London based firm of Independent Financial Advisers for an undisclosed sum.

The takeover comes soon after the purchase of Watkins Oram, the West Sussex based IFA firm earlier in the month.

Richard Skerritt, Managing Director of Skerritt Consultants: “as well as adding another high quality client bank to the Company, this will achieve our objective of a City Office and brings on board a number of high calibre staff, including the founder of Huntington, Daryl Clark.

Daryl is the founder of the Childline Rocks Charity Concert. This year’s event is to be held at Indig02 in June this year. We are excited to be associated with this, as the inaugural Childline Rocks Event featured a line-up of musicians who between them had sold over 100million records and raised over £100,000 for Childline.

The majority of our business now comes from London, mainly in the area of Corporate Pensions and Wealth Management, so this is a key strategic development for the Company. Whilst many IFA and Wealth Management firms are finding things tough in the current economic climate, we are continuing to grow as a result of being a well financed and well managed firm.”

The new offices for Skerritts are off Cannon Street, in the heart of the financial centre of the City of London.

Skerritt Consultants Snap Up Adviser Firm Watkins Oram & Co Ltd

Hove-based financial planning firm Skerritt Consultants has acquired Watkins Oram in Shoreham-by-Sea.

Richard Skerritt, managing director of Skerritt Consultants, said the deal had taken 12 months to reach fruition but went through last week after it made a cash offer.

The deal will see Watkins Oram director and financial planner John Oram relocate to Skerritt Consultants’ office in Hove where he will work with the 12-strong team to transfer his clients over. Skerritt said Oram would be a valuable addition to the team: “I have known John for about 14 years and he is as solid as anything. He’s got a really good business that was buit on no initial commissions so it works well because it is all recurring commission”.

Skerritt said he was in the final stages of talks with another adviser based in London and expected to announce details of the acquisition within weeks.
